Scott Williams

Scott Williams brings a history of strategic communications, international communications and media relations expertise to TheWadeGroup, Inc. As founder and president of RussellWilliams, he provides strategic support and counsel to Fortune 100 companies, as well as political and communications commentary.

Williams has developed and managed multi-faceted communications activities on matters of national importance, including the historic 1998 settlement between major U.S. tobacco companies and state attorneys general, and a prominent Boston publishing house involved in a nationally reported First Amendment lawsuit. In addition, he provides communications and strategic counsel to senior executives and front-line communications managers, has developed successful repositioning and community outreach efforts, and supported complex litigation communications programs.

Williams also has devised and implemented media relations strategies for Altria Group, Chevron, The Coca-Cola Company, Hormel Foods, KBR, Los Angeles World Airports, Arbitron, BellSouth, Lockheed Corporation, Chiquita Brands International, Delaware North Corporation, and the Government of Puerto Rico, among others.

Williams is a former press secretary to retired Senator Sam Nunn of Georgia and current Montana Senator Max Baucus, as well as former Chief House Majority Whip Barbara B. Kennelly of Connecticut and former New York Representative Peter A. Peyser. He also served as a segment producer for ABC News/Good Morning America, where he worked on breaking news stories in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and throughout the United States.

In addition, Williams is a founding partner of the popular Capitol City Brewing Company in Washington, D.C., the first brewery in the nation's capital since prohibition, and developed the successful launch program for Typhoon Brewery, a highly acclaimed gourmet Thai restaurant/brewpub in New York City. He also serves on the board of directors of the Washington Revels, a Washington, D.C. arts organization and is a former president of the Colgate Club of the National Capitol Area.
