Richard Moore has more than three decades of experience as a reporter, news director, press secretary and senior counselor in public affairs, media relations and crisis communications for corporations, nonprofit organizations and governments.
Moore was a senior counselor with the international communications firm Burson-Marsteller for nearly two decades. For several years, Moore led the media department for the agency's Washington office, and from 1999 to 2001, he was based in Brussels, where he was a senior counselor on pan-European campaigns.
Moore's clients have included the government of Mexico, McDonnell Douglas, Boeing, Gulfstream, Fluor, Accenture, Philip Morris, Ethyl Corporation, Eli Lilly, CDW, Goodwill Industries, the American Plastics Council, the Association of American Railroads and the Hopi Indian tribe.
For nearly 10 years, Moore was an advisor to senior officials of the government of Mexico on a variety of issues. The most notable assignment was directing a multi-year campaign on behalf of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
Prior to joining Burson-Marsteller, Moore served for six years as press secretary for U.S. Sen. Mack Mattingly and was elected president of the U.S. Senate Press Secretaries Association.
In addition to being an associate and senior vice president with TheWadeGroup, Inc., Moore is an independent public affairs and communications consultant.
A graduate of the University of Georgia, Moore worked as a reporter and news director of a state radio network in Georgia, was co-owner of a radio station named “Station of the Year” by the Georgia Association of Broadcasters and worked for two daily newspapers.
Moore served two years in the U.S. Army at Ft. Bragg, N.C., and as an Army journalist in Vietnam. He is the author of three mystery novels and is a member of the National Press Club, Mystery Writers of America and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
