Lee Khan has an extensive background in communications, government relations and health care.
Prior to joining TheWadeGroup, Inc., Khan was a senior vice president at Cohn & Wolfe, where she led client teams in risk management and crisis preparedness activities for a variety of clients. She served as a lobbyist and the director of government affairs for the publicly traded company United Payers and Providers, Inc., monitoring health care legislation and regulation while developing relationships with insurance carriers for federal employees. In this role, Khan secured business within the government market, resulting in revenues exceeding $30 million annually.
Khan designed and implemented legislative strategy that secured a competitive edge for the introduction of new products into the Federal Health Benefit Program, and contributed significantly to the growth of the company's revenues. She also developed an integral health care cost containment strategy to be marketed for unions providing health care to members.
Khan also has advised and worked with foreign governments, including the Government of Grenada. She assisted the Prime Minister in efforts to privatize the Grenada Electric Company and served on a task force aimed at raising capital for the construction of hospitals there. She also spent considerable time in Russia during the 1990s working on projects for pro-democracy forces.
In addition to being an associate and senior vice president with TheWadeGroup, Khan serves as an independent communications consultant.
Khan was a division director for the Republican National Committee for 11 years, where she focused solely on the use of political volunteers in year-round activities to promote local leadership in problem solving. She also has advised numerous community affairs campaigns, including Beautiful Babies, which reduced infant mortality in the Washington, D.C., area by 23 percent.
She attended DePauw University and received a degree in political science from Johnson State College.
