Patty Babb is an experienced communications professional who brings a broad range of writing, media relations, and Web and materials development experience to her work at TheWadeGroup, Inc.
Babb joined TheWadeGroup from the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), a national nonprofit organization that works to transform distressed neighborhoods into healthy and sustainable communities. There she served as a communications officer, overseeing the writing, design and distribution of all national communications materials, including LISC’s annual report, president’s letter and donor stewardship publications.
Prior to LISC, Babb worked at Homes for Working Families, a national nonprofit organization that promotes policy change to increase access to affordable homes. As a communications manager, she created the organization’s Web site, handled media outreach efforts, planned events, managed relations with the board of directors and assisted in the development of a variety of publications, including research guides, case studies and brochures. The first employee hired by the executive director at the organization’s inception, Babb helped build Homes for Working Families from the ground up, establishing a strategic plan and a robust set of internal policies, developing communications plans and messaging materials, and creating and promoting the organization’s brand identity.
Babb also has worked as a communications professional at the Fannie Mae Foundation and AmeriCorps*National Civilian Community Corps. She holds a degree in public relations from Penn State University (University Park).
